FGCS is partnering with the Pacific University ceramics department for this year's Empty Bowls Project. We would like to invite all everyone to come to the reception and feast! This is a really cool event that embraces art while bettering our community through charitable giving. Please join us, and you will walk away with a full belly and a new bowl created by Level 4 students.
Weekly Review
Over the past couple of weeks, the Plovers have been discussing ideas for their classroom business. This project will take place in January and February, and students will be using the knowledge and skills they have learned from our imaginary business project and our study of waste and recycling. The students developed this list of possible business ideas:
- Bowling Alley - bowling balls and pins made out of trash
- Robots made out of trash
- Used book store
- Mini golf course
- Boards games made out of recycled materials
- Ninja warrior obstacle course or nerf shooting range
- Cardboard carnival or arcade games
The class agreed on the idea of creating a mini golf course and making all of the holes and clubs out of recycled materials! Stay tuned for more information after Winter Break, including how you can donate materials and help with building the course! Check out the photos below from Glowing Greens, where the Plovers started some research about mini golf last week!
