No Homework Due This Week!
A few notes about summer work:
1. 3rd and 4th graders will bring home their Math Practice Books and they may continue to work in them over the summer. http://www.dadsworksheets.com is also a good source for math practice sheets.
2. Many students will not be able to complete the final drafts of their Oregon Trail journals this week. They will bring home a bound book with extra blank pages in the back, along with their edited rough drafts. All of the students have worked very hard on their stories, so I hope they will continue to work on their final drafts over the summer!
3. Our pen pals in Switzerland would like to stay in contact over the summer! I created a Google Form so you could provide either an email address or mailing address for your student's pen pal to write to. I will not share any contact information unless it is entered into the Google Form. Click here to fill out your Pen Pal Contact Info.
Math Notes
Last week in Third Grade Math, students worked on an end-of-the-year math work sample and wrote their own multiplication story problems based on our Muffles Truffles investigation. Our last day of math will be Wednesday. Over the summer, students should continue to practice their multiplication facts (with flashcards, online games or apps like Sushi Monster by Scholastic, or worksheets from http://www.dadsworksheets.com/) so they are ready for 4th grade math!
Last week in Fourth Grade Math, we continued our Dream House presentations in preparation for Celebrations of Learning. This week we have only three days of math (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) and will focus on our final "juicy" problem of the school year titled "The Teachers' Lounge."
THANK YOU!
Thank you so much to all the families who were able to attend Celebrations of Learning and visit the Reading Roots Bookstore. The students and I also appreciate all the help and donations we had along the way to make the bookstore such a success! I also want to thank all the parents who joined us for an amazing day at Hagg Lake or helped with other O&As and projects this year. I am so grateful for your generosity and support! Have a wonderful summer :)
