Upcoming Out and Abouts
This Wednesday, we will visit Jackson Bottom Wetlands to find inspiration for our puppet theater set design. This will be a short morning trip and students will be back at school in time for their regular lunch. Chaperones may ride the bus from FGCS or meet us at Jackson Bottom at 10:15.
Friendship Celebration (Valentines Day)
We will show appreciation for our classroom community and friendships with a Friendship Celebration and class snack on February 14th. There are additional sign-ups on the Community Breakfast page for veggies, fruit and crackers. If your Plover would like to bring in cards for their classmates, they MUST bring one for every student. Students can make cards or buy them. Please be modest with candy contributions; Plovers will not be allowed to eat treats at school.

Weekly Review
Last week, we completed the preliminary rounds of the National Geographic Bee to determine the Plover class representative. There are 7 rounds of competition and each student individually answered a question in every round. Isabella and Lowell tied for first place after 7 rounds, so then we had a tie-breaker! Isabella correctly answered the question: "Baton Rouge, an important center of the petrochemical industry, is located at the head of deep-water navigation on which river?" Congratulations Isabella! She will represent our class at the FGCS GeoBee on Friday! The Plovers will continue to study world and US geography in art as they each make a personal atlas!
The Plovers tested out a new website called GoNoodle for stretching and movement breaks. So far, it seems like a fun addition to our regular dance parties and Mind Yeti sessions! Click the link for some ideas about how you can use GoNoodle at home! Parent Letter
"Trusted by more than half a million teachers, GoNoodle gets kids running, dancing, stretching, and practicing emotional awareness at school with short, easy-to-follow videos. But it isn’t just for school – download the new GoNoodle Kids iOS app to take charge of excess energy, practice mindfulness, and have fun at home!"
