Weekly Review
Last week was a very short week due to goal setting conferences. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend! I enjoyed meeting with Plover families on Thursday and Friday, and I hope you enjoyed hearing your child's goals and seeing the beginnings of their portfolios. An extra special THANK YOU to the new FGCS Parent Group and all the volunteers who supplied teacher refreshments for the extra long conference days! The snacks were delicious and very much appreciated! If you were unable to schedule a visit, please contact me to set up an alternative conference time.
We completed a practice Reading Response Letter last week so students would understand the expected format and content when they complete their first homework assignment this week. The letter we wrote together is about a book I read aloud to the class called Secret Pizza Party. Students' homework letters should be about a book they are reading at home. Please refer to the example letter below to support your child with their reading and writing homework.

Dear Laura,
This week I read Secret Pizza Party by Adam Rubin. In this story, a raccoon stole pizza so he could have a party. Usually, he can’t get any pizza because people chase him away. I liked this story because it is silly, funny and imaginative. I made a mental image of a huge pizza museum! What kind of pizza do you like? Have a good day.
Love,
Laura
