Math Notes
Third Grade Mathematicians will use the next two weeks to review and build on material covered in the beginning of the year, including measurement, place value, estimation, solving story problems, adding and subtracting with money, and calculating perimeter. Students who are able to demonstrate proficiency in these skills will complete a challenge project or extension activity, and other students will receive additional support and small-group instruction. Our next unit will focus on multiplication and division.
For Homework, Third Graders will complete the Money Story Problems worksheet, which provides a review of multi-digit addition and subtraction.
This week, the Fourth Grade Math students will begin a new unit focusing on fractions and division. Over the course of this (approximately) 6 week unit, your 4th grader will:

· Write numbers to name picture of fractions
· Identify equivalent fractions
· Identify which of two fractions is greater
· Solve problems involving division with remainders
· Divide 2-digit numbers by 1-digit numbers
· Solve story problems about fractions and dividing whole numbers
For homework students are required to complete a review assignment involving double-digit multiplication – Multiplying Multiples of 10 & More to help keep our multiplication skills fresh.
