Upcoming Out and Abouts
Tomorrow, we we will join Pacific Outdoor Pursuits for an all day O&A to Hagg Lake. Help your student be prepared for the day by packing: water bottle, lunch, sunglasses/hat, sunscreen and extra clothes (in case they get wet). Students must wear closed toed shoes that can get wet. No flip flops or sandals. They can bring an extra pair of shoes to change into after canoeing.
Chaperones: Please meet us at Hagg Lake Boat Ramp C at 10:15am. There is a $6 entry fee. Don't forget a sack lunch, water bottle and close-toed shoes!

Weekly Review
Last week, we met with trip leaders and guides from Pacific's Outdoor Pursuits program to learn about water safety and canoeing basics. Students learned to stay low as they get into their boat to help keep it steady. The guides also talked about personal flotation devices and how they should fit. We learned that most boating accidents happen on shore - not on the water! That's why it is important to wear closed toed shoes to protect your feet from injuries. Finally, the students learned emergency signals and what to do if they fall out of the boat. All students will get about 30 minutes to canoe at Hagg Lake and they will rotate to other stations on shore when they are not boating.
We also visited Step In Studio to practice our thunderstorm dance for the FGCS talent show. We hope you can come see the Plover performance on Friday, June 3rd at Central School. The talent show begins at 9:30am!
