Weekly Review
Last week, most Plovers completed the Smarter Balanced Math Assessment and Performance Task! This means we will be able to return to our regular schedule this week and focus on writing and project work. Each Plover created a work plan for themselves last week, setting personal deadline to help them complete their informational writing and visitor center exhibits. Each job has the following tasks to complete for their group:
Education Specialists - Life cycle game and poster
Field Biologists - 3D animal model
Landscape Architect - Habitat model and visitor center construction
Lorax (Conservation Crew) - Protection invention and stewardship video
Our wetland animals finally migrated into the mural last week! In order for an animal to survive in their new habitat, each group had to make 3 native plants to place on the mural. We have a very healthy bald eagle and beaver population because those groups worked diligently to make 9 or 12 wetland shrubs and flowers, such as Oregon Grape, Red Flowering Currant, Skunk Cabbage and Pond Weed. Come see if you can identify some of these plants next week at Celebrations of Learning!
