Upcoming Out and Abouts
This THURSDAY, we will go to see Oregon Ballet Theater perform Alice (in Wonderland) at Keller Auditorium in Portland. This trip fits in with our storytelling and fairy tales theme, and it is also a chance for the students to see a professional dance performance! Optional: Plovers may dress up for our day at the ballet! We will be walking and eating lunch in downtown Portland, so comfortable shoes are recommended with all dresses and fancy pants :) Students who ordered a school lunch for this day will receive a sack lunch.

Read Across America Day
Grab your hat and read with the cat! The Plovers will celebrate the National Education Association's annual Read Across America Day on Tuesday, March 6. This is after the official day (March 2nd) because we will be presenting at All School Meeting on Friday. The Plovers will celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday by reading in their pajamas! We will also have special guest readers, read alouds, opportunities to read with a buddy and read-to-self time. Students are allowed to bring a stuffed animal to read with, but they should not bring blankets or sleeping bags. Please sign up on VolunteerSpot if you would like to be a mystery reader; I have extra Dr. Seuss books available for guest readers!

Below are the current words and patterns that students are working on during spelling. Level 2 students do not have spelling homework, but you may choose to review these words in a fun way with your Plover!
Some at home practice ideas:
- Write a synonym and antonym for each word.
- Write each spelling word and then write at least two words that can be made from the same letters.
