We have weekly homework in Level 2 to help students build skills such as organization, time management and independence. Additionally, math homework is a chance for students to practice skills taught in class, and typing homework helps prepare students for writing they'll have to do for the SBAC test this spring. After the week off, your student may need support getting back into their homework routine, which should include reading every night. You can help your Plover make a homework calendar and find a quiet place to work. Students who complete their math and typing homework get a chance to spin the "Prize Wheel" in class at the end of the week!
Upcoming Out and Abouts
This month, we will use our Out & About time in December for Fairy Tale Engineering Labs! Over three weeks, students will invent, test and refine solutions to problems in popular fairy tales. This week, students can either create a parachute for Jack to escape the giant (Jack & the Beanstalk) or build a zipline to carry Little Red Riding Hood's cookies to her grandma's house.
1. Breakfast Donations - Fruit needed this Friday 12/6
2. Library Chaperones - Needed 1/6
3. Out & About Chaperones - Needed 1/23 10am-2pm for Oregon Children's Theater

Before Thanksgiving Break, the Plovers presented at All School Meeting about their Native American project and a totem pole they created for our classroom. Check out their presentation below and read the captions to find out what the Plovers shared from the stage at All School Meeting!
